Deck the plate with fruits and veges! Tis the year to be healthy


A lot of unhealthy eating habits are embedded in holiday traditions. Christmas cookies, candy canes, marshmallows, Easter eggs, and Halloween treats are among some of the highly consumed holiday snacks, in addition to overloaded plates and a lot of sugary beverages. Healthier food choices like cutting down on the sugary stuff, being mindful of portion sizes, and adding more fruits and vegetables to your meals will go a long way towards a better 2024! Although the year is coming to an end, it's never too late to implement good eating habits. Start by shopping for seasonal fruits and vegetables. In addition to saving a few dollars, you get to enjoy the latest nutrients as prescribed by nature. Seasonal fruits and vegetables have all the nutrients needed to fuel and refresh your body in that season. Think of a red, juicy watermelon on a scorching hot summer day. Or a warm hearty pumpkin soup on a cold and windy night. I cannot help but drool and marvel at how God knows our nutrition needs and aligns them with seasonal produce.
